MANILA, Philippines — Nakatakdang umuwi na ngayong araw (Abril 14) ang humanitarian contingent ng Pilipinas mula sa dalawang linggong search, rescue and retrieval mission sa Myanmar matapos ang magnitude 7.7 lindol na kumitil ng mahigit 3,000 katao.
Ayon kay Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Administrator Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno, ang Philippine Inter-Agency Humanitarian Contingent (PIAHC) ay lulan ng C130 aircraft ng PAF. Sasalubungin ang mga ito sa isang seremonya na gaganapin sa Villamor Air Base ng Philippine Air Force (PAF), Pasay City.
Ang Phl contingent ay binubuo ng 89 personnel mula sa iba’t ibang ahensiya ng gobyerno.
“I honor your courage and compassion to serve. As a Filipino, I am immensely proud of each of you for being ready to help our neighbors in their time of need,” pahayag ni Nepomuceno.
Kabilang sa team ang urban search and rescue units ng Philippine Army (PA), Philippine Air Force (PAF), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), at mula sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
Nagsagawa ang mga ito ng humanitarian disaster mission sa gumuhong Jade City Hotel sa Nay Pyi Taw sa pakikipagtulungan sa search and rescue team mula sa Myanmar, Vietnam, Indonesia at Singapore.
