MANILA, Philippines — Inaprubahan ng House Committee on Appropriations ang P27.3 bilyong panukalang pondo ng Office of the President (OP) para sa 2026.
Dumalo sa pagdinig si Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin na kumatawan sa OP na sinamahan ni Presidential Son at House Majority Leader Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Sandro Marcos.
Binigyang diin ni Bersamin ang committent ng OP sa transparency at pananagutan sa lahat ng tanggapan ng gobyerno.
Humingi naman ng klaripikasyon si House Minority Leader Marcelino Libanan kay Bersamin hinggil sa mapag-akusang pahayag nito sa ilang miyembro ng Kamara na umano’y isinisisi ang korapsyon sa gobyerno at kabiguan sa Executive Department.
Inihayag naman ni Bersamin na wala itong malisya na nais lamang bigyang diin ang hiwalay na kapangyarihan ng Executive Branch sa Kamara kung saan ilang miyembro nito bagaman hindi naman lahat ay nagbigay ng pahayag na sila sa gabinete ay ikinokonsidera itong laban sa institusyonal na kapangyarihan.
“It’s the elephant in the room but we came here in good faith. We just like to emphasize that any part of the statement is our statement. We will not shirk from that or avoid the impact,” anang Executive Secretary.
“We do not intend that (statement) to rile up the tension between our departments. We come here seeking your support for our institutional budget… “There is nothing intended that is malicious or to malign the House of Representatives,” dagdag ni Bersamin.
