Larga Pilipinas iniatras sa Nobyembre 29

MANILA, Philippines — Iniurong ang pagpad­yak ng six-stage Larga Pilipinas cycling marathon sa Nobyembre 29 mula sa orihinal na petsang Agosto 2.

Ito ay dahil sa magkakasunod na pag-ulan at pagbaha na naranasan ng bansa sa nakaraang mga linggo, ayon kay Larga Pilipinas operations chief Snow Badua.

“It’s quite unfortunate because the teams prepared hard for this. But as we speak, there are areas in Northern Luzon especially in the Cordilleras that are currently isolated because of the heavy rains,” ani Badua kahapon sa Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum sa conference hall ng Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.

“Heavily battered ang Northern Luzon that’s why in close coordination with the different LGUs (local government units), we needed to reset, also upon the advice by PhilCycling president Abraham Tolentino,” dagdag nito sa sesyong inihandog ng San Miguel Corporation, Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, MILO, Smart/PLDT at 24/7 sports app Arena Plus.

Kumpiyansa si Badua na gaganda na ang panahon sa Nobyembre sa Northern Luzon para sa ligtas na pagdaraos ng Larga Pilipinas.

“Palipasin na muna natin ang typhoon season. Let’s give the LGUs all the time to focus on the s­ituation and huwag na tayo madagdag sa isipin nila,” wika ni Badua.

Ipinaalam na ni Badua sa lahat ng mga sasaling koponan pati na sa mga foreign teams ang kanilang naging desisyon.
