MANILA, Philippines — Hinikayat ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang mga Pilipino na gayahin ang mga ipinamalas ng mga bayani sa bansa.
Sa mensahe ng Pangulo sa paggunita ng National Heroes Day, sinabi niya na ang historic struggles ng bansa ang pumanday sa kasaysayan ng mga bayani.
“I stand in solidarity with the entire Filipino people as we commemorate our National Heroes’ Day. Today, we join the entire country in honoring the lives of exemplary Filipinos and Filipinas who selflessly offered themselves for the good of our nation,” sabi pa ng Pangulo.
Hindi rin aniya maikakaila na patuloy ang paglikha ng bansa ng mga bagong bayani, hindi lamang sa battlefield kundi sa araw-araw na pamumuhay.
“Among the enduring truths to be drawn from their stories is that nation-building is a constant and unrelenting endeavor, and that heroes and heroines are needed throughout the life of a country,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Hinikayat pa ni Marcos ang mga Filipino na magpakita ng kabayanihan sa pang araw-araw na gawain.
“As we continue on our journey of nationhood, let us emulate their examples by manifesting our patriotism through acts of genuine service to our people. Through simple but meaningful acts of compassion to our brothers and sisters, we can be our generation’s heroes, bringing forth the Bagong Pilipinas we aspire,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Ginugunita ang National Heroes Day tuwing huling Lunes ng Agosto bilang pagkilala sa kabayanihan ng mga Filipino na lumaban sa kalayaan ng Pilipinas mula sa pananakop ng mga Español.
