MANILA, Philippines — Plano ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) na magtayo ng training hub para sa mga national boxers sa Bukidnon.
Nakipagkasundo si PSC chairman Patrick “Pato” Gregorio kay Senator Miguel Zubiri at sa local government ng Bukidnon na gawing ‘breeding ground’ ang bagong tayong Bukidnon Sports and Cultural Complex para sa mga world-class Filipino boxing talent.
“I’m very happy to be here. Thumbs up to the development of your province and city—such beautiful facilities. I’ve seen many training centers around the world, and this is truly world-class,” sabi ni Gregorio sa kanyang pagbisita sa 13-hectare complex sa Malaybalay, Bukidnon.
Personal na sinamahan ni Zubiri si Gregorio sa pasilidad na nagtatampok sa isang 15,000-seat stadium, eight-lane track and field oval, football field at aquatics center na may Olympic-size swimming pool at diving pool.
Nauna nang inihayag ng PSC chief ang pagtatayo ng mga regional training centers sa buong bansa mula sa advise sa kanya ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos, Jr.
Ang Bukidnon Sports and Cultural Complex ay mayroon ding 3,000-seat gymnasium na idinisenyo para sa basketball, badminton at martial arts bukod sa apat na tennis courts, isang open field para sa mga outdoor events, isang auditorium para sa cultural performances at museum.
Nakasama nina Gregorio at Zubiri sa paglilibot sa pasilidad sina Bukidnon Governor O’Neil Roque at Malaybalay City Mayor Warren Pabillaran.
“We’ll support your regional training centers—that’s our commitment in the Senate. Mayor Warren and Governor O’Neil are here with us. We are one Bukidnon, so rest assured you’ll have our full support. We’re proud to host the boxing team,” ani Zubiri.
Sinabi rin ng Senador na bubuksan nila ang track and field oval sa publiko.
Una itong ginawa ng PSC sa Rizal Memorial Sports Complex sa Manila at sa PhilSports sa Pasig City.
