MANILA, Philippines — Ahh sa Sta. Rosa, Laguna nagsampa ng reklamo ang walong miyembro ng OPM girl group na BINI, kasama ang kanilang legal counsel na si Atty. Joji Alonso, laban sa isang indibidwal noong Lunes sa tanggapan ng city prosecutor sa Hall of Justice ng Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Nagmula ito sa pag-splice ng 25-minutong video ng mga miyembro ng BINI, na pinutol sa 2-minuto at ipinakita lamang ang kanilang mga negatibong reaksyon sa pagkaing Pinoy, na tuluyang nagbago sa salaysay ng palabas.
At nilinaw ni Atty. Joji na hindi libel ang kanilang ikinaso sa hindi pa nila pinangalanang indibidwal. “Today we assisted BINI in the filing of a criminal case.
“This is not a libel case,” umpisa ng post ni Atty. Joji.
“It is a case for cybercrime under Sections 4B and 6 of RA 10175 or the Cyberspace Prevention Law of 2012 in conjunction with unjust vexation under Article 287 of the RPC.
“This emanated from the splicing of a 25-minute video of the BINI members, trying and rating Filipino street food. The uploaded spliced version was cut to 2-minutes and only showed only their negative reactions, completely changing the show’s narrative.
“This fueled online hate and bashing against BINI. This even escalated to personal attacks, name-calling, and grave insults. The malicious splicing of the video unjustly threw them in a bad light, causing irreparable emotional and mental distress.
“It must be remembered that freedom to post online is not an absolute right, and must be accompanied by truth, accountability and responsibility. Right to free speech ends when it starts to malign reputatios or cause harm and damage upon others.
“BINI is taking a strong stance against this digital form of abuse which is prevalent. Literally anyone may fall victim. In filing this case, BINI stands as a voice in fighting for all those who remain unheard,” kabuuan ng post ni Atty. Joji.

Nahuhulaan ng iba kung sino ito pero mas tama namang hintayin natin kung sino ito.
