Nitong June 23, 2025, ginanap ng Star Magic ang monthly Spotlight press conference sa Coffee Project, Wil Tower, sa Quezon City. Bida sa event ngayong buwan ng Hunyo si Jed Madela—na kilala bilang The Voice at The Singer’s Singer.
Ang presscon ay naging masayang kwentuhan tungkol sa musical journey ni Jed at sa mga upcoming projects na dapat abangan ng kanyang fans.
Isa sa mga highlights ay ang nalalapit niyang birthday concert na pinamagatang Superhero, na magaganap sa July 5 sa Music Museum—isang gabing punong-puno ng celebration at world-class na performances.
Kwento ni Jed: “I learn the songs by heart. And now that we’re doing this full concert talaga, siyempre yung endurance. I try to be more physically fit for the concert… even the production, I oversee everything.,” umpisa niya.
“Normally, I do concerts every July kasi it’s my birthday month. Something I do to give back and to give thanks to the people who have been supportive. What makes this year’s different is that every concert is an opportunity for me na magkwento ng mga nangyari for the past year,” dagdag pa ni Jed.
Bukod sa inaabangang birthday concert, aabangan rin ang show niya sa Birmingham Barrio Fiesta sa July 13 na gaganapin sa Woodgate Valley Country Park. Susundan ito ng kanyang performance sa Bravo Manila sa August 23 sa The Theatre at Solaire—isang selebrasyon ng Filipino musical excellence kung saan makakasama niya sina Bituin Escalante at co-Star Magic artist Sofronio Vasquez.
Nagbigay rin si Jed ng advice para sa mga aspiring artists: “Number one, you have to be prepared. The reason why you get nervous, why you’re scared and you have jitters is when you’re not prepared.”
Isang bagong album naman under Star Music ang aabangan kay Jed na magtatampok ng mga bagong tunog at heartfelt na kanta. “What’s more important sa akin ngayon is ang laki pala ng impact ko sa tao. Lalong lalo na sa mga bagong artists ngayon. It’s something I really want to pay forward,” katwiran niya.
Ikinuwento rin ni Jed ang isa pa niyang passion bukod sa music: “I’m a toy collector. I’m also an art toy designer. I’m very active in the collectible industry. Kakatapos lang ng Toycon 2025 and I was part of it. The latest one that I released was ‘VuDU Boy’, he is a self character na crineate ko [nung] 2009 and started as a sketch tapos nakita ng mga kaibigan kong collector at art toy designers. Sabi nila sa akin, why don’t you make it into art toy. Eventually, nag evolve na siya from a sketch into an actual art toy.”
Hanggang naging negosyo na niya ito at umabot hanggang abroad.
“Pero i-figure out ko muna kung paano ipadala kasi minsan mas mahal pa ‘yung shipping kesa sa actual toy, but you know it’s nice. It’s another avenue for me to share a part of me, aside from my music, my art toys,” sabi pa sa interview ni Jed.
At ang birthday wish ni Jed: “I am eager to pursue my career as a singer and performer, seeking more opportunities not only in the Philippines but globally. I feel that I still have a lot to give. So, ayun ‘yung pini-pray ko lagi na healthy ako and the people around me, especially my family and my parents. Kasi kung wala itong mga taong ito, I wouldn’t have the drive. So ‘yun ‘yung pinaka-dream ko, and my wish is to just conquer more opportunities, na sana mas marami pang dumating.”
Sa kasalukuyan ay wala na raw siyang kanegahan sa katawan at nagsisilbing inspirasyon sa kanya ang mga taong nakasama niya ng mahabang panahon na hindi siya iniwan sa lahat ng laban.
“I just feel so light and happy now that I’ve unloaded a lot of negativity. ‘Yun nga, iba pala talaga na your mindset, kumbaga ‘yung mindset mo, you choose to do good and you choose to transform anything negative into something positive. So, mindset lang talaga. Inspiration, of course, comes from the people who have been with me since day one. ‘Yung mga sincere talaga na since nagsimula ako hanggang ngayon,” kabilang na si Ate Flor na kasama na niya sa loob ng 20 years.
