Walong taon munang magkasintahan sina Michele Gumabao at Aldo Panlilio bago tuluyang magpakasal kamakailan. Unang naganap ang seremonya noong Pebrero sa Makati at nasundan pa ng isang garden wedding noong Marso. Ipinaliwanag ni Michele kung bakit natagalan ang kanilang desisyon na magpakasal. “There came a time na naging complacent din kami sa relationship namin. How do you move on from an eight-year relationship to the next step which is marriage. I think deep inside also, I really wanted to wait. What if my dad (Dennis Roldan) would get out? Makakasama ba namin siya? It was a big factor na, ayaw ko pang ikasal. What if next year makalabas siya to walk with down the aisle. Siyempre it was a big momentous occasion for me as a woman. Those were the factors kaya tumagal din kami ng eight years,” nakangiting pahayag sa amin ni Michele sa Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.
Ayon sa beauty queen ay malaki ang pagkakaiba ngayon ng mister kumpara noong magkasintahan pa lamang sila. “Aldo became much, more sweeter and clingier after marriage. We’ve been living together and we’ve spent so much time together. So sabi ko, I don’t think anything is gonna change. Pero no’ng kinasal kami we valued quality time with each other. And just getting to spend moments like calling him my husband, him calling me wife. I didn’t think it’s going to be that different. But it was Aldo actually after the wedding ‘yung nag-step in to talaga sa husband role niya. Ngayon feeling ko parang lagi niya akong hinahanap. He pays attention to the details. Out of the blue nagpapadala siya ng food and may maliliit siya na surprise na. After the wedding mas naging bongga siya. So ako kinakabahan ako, like, ‘May ginawa ka bang mali? Anong problema natin?’” natatawang kwento ni Michele.
Umaasa ang beauty queen na makalalaya pa rin ang amang si Dennis Roldan na halos dalawang dekada nang nakabilanggo. Aminado si Michele na nakaramdam ng galit noon sa dating aktor dahil sa nangyari. “Kami as a family, we pray for the best. But we also know that whatever it is that God’s plan for him, we’ll also accept. There came a point na nagalit kami sa kanya. We really went through that journey specially when it was publicized that he also had another woman. It was something difficult. Nagalit talaga ako, Tito Boy. Because the love of my mom and my dad made us as a family. And even until now, sa dami-dami nang napagdaanan nila, their love, made us all search for that true love. We got to heal because it was my mom who always said, ‘You have to forgive your father.’ Kahit siya ‘yung nasaktan, siya ‘yung humihingi ng forgiveness. I was in grade school when this happened. Hindi ko pa naiintindihan how the world works, how marriage works, how forgiveness works. It was my mom who really brought us back together as a family,” makahulugang paglalahad niya.
Samantala, napabalita kamakailan na nagkahiwalay na sina Cristine Reyes at Marco Gumabao. Ayon kay Michele ay hindi pa niya nakakausap ang nakababatang kapatid tungkol sa hiwalayang. “No, Tito Boy, not at all. I don’t actually know where they are now in their relationship. I just know that, nakausap ko pa siya, si Cristine, last week, and I got to see her din especially when her dad passed away. So, she has a good relationship with our family. So at least whatever is happening between them, hindi naman na-affect ‘yung mga tao sa paligid like us. I haven’t seen him, so I haven’t asked him. I don’t know if they get to talk again now.
