MANILA, Philippines — Magtatangkang humakot ng gintong medalya ang Swim League Philippines-Behrouz Elite Swimming Team (SLP-BEST) Patriots sa 2025 Asian Open School Invitational (AOSI) Short Course Age Group Swimming Championship na papalo sa Setyembre 5 hanggang 7 sa Bangkok, Thailand.
Magpapadala ang SLP-BEST Patriots ng 11 tankers sa two-day event na idaraos sa Assumption University Aquatic Center na siya ring pagdarausan ng 2025 Southeast Asian Games swimming competitions sa Disyembre.
“The AOSI Meet provides an excellent opportunity for our developing swimmers to gain invaluable international competition experience,” ani SLP-BEST team manager Joan Mojdeh.
“The diverse range of participating clubs from various Asian countries is instrumental in honing their skills and mental strength that really boost their performance in swimming,” dagdag nito.
Mamanduhan ang kampanya ng SLP-BEST Patriots nina Madi Mojdeh at Mikee Mojdeh na nakababatang kapatid ni SEA Games-bound Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh.
Magtatangkang humirit ng medalya ang La Salle-Greenhills freshman na si Behrouz Mohammad Madi sa boys’ 14-year division kung saan sasabak ito sa 200m Individual Medley (IM), 100m breaststroke, 200m backstroke, 100m IM, 200m breast, 200m butterfly, 100m butterfly at 200m freestyle.
Aarangkada naman ang pambato ng Immaculate Heart of Mary College Parañaque na si Mikhael Jasper Mikee sa boys’ 10-year class 200m IM, 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 100m IM, 100m freestyle, 100m butterfly, 50m butterfly at 200m freestyle.
“The progress of swimmers like Mikee who excelled in both long and short course AOSI meets, and Madi, who gained significant confidence and improved his times after international participation, underscores the importance of this kind of events,” ayon pa kay Joan.
“As their sister, Jasmine embarked her journey into the national team, we cannot discount the fact that she reached this level because of her extensive experience in international swim meets such as this one,” dagdag pa nito.
Kasama rin sa delegasyon sina Kaidiyn Brie Waskiewicz (girls-12-year), Tanjie Elleise Waskiewicz (girls-16-year), Elisa De Kam (girls’ 14-year), Aliyya Faine Mojdeh (girls’ 8-year), Drei Mabilin (boys’ 10-year), Chelsea Faith Sy Bang (girls’ 9-year), Chloe Skye Sy Bang (girls 7-year), Leane Jewel Arellano (girls’ 9-year) at Marien Jade Arellano (girls 9-year).
“These experiences are crucial for our age groupers as they build the mental toughness and resiliency required to reach the national team level,” ani Joan.
