MANILA, Philippines — Personal na bumisita si Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino sa Thailand upang obserbahan ang 2025 Track Asia Cup sa Suphan Buri.
Ang pagbisita ni Tolentino sa naturang event ay bahagi ng paghahanda rin ng Pilipinas sa pagtataguyod ng Asian Cycling Confederation Track Championships sa Marso sa bagong gawang Tagaytay CT Velodrome sa Tagaytay City.
“It will be the first time in 30 years that the Philippines is hosting an Asian-level track championships and we want to make sure on its success,” ani Tolentino na siya ring president ng PhilCycling.
Mainit namang tinanggap ni Thailand Cycling Association president General Decha Hemkasri si Tolentino sa opening ceremony kahapon sa Suphan Buri Velodrome.
Ang Suphan Buri Velodrome ay isang 333-meter concrete at open air track facility habang ang Tagaytay CT Velodrome ay gawa sa kahoy at indoor venue na may International Cycling Union Olympic at world championship standard length na 250 meters.
Kasabay nito ang pagsusuri ni Tolentino sa Suphan Buri na magsisilbi ring venue ng 2025 Southeast Asian Games track competitions sa Disyembre.
May 28 national at club teams ang sasabak sa Track Asia Cup na nagsimula kahapon at matatapos bukas.
“With 28 teams, these competitions approximate the ACC championships where we expect track cyclists from 40 Asian countries to converge in Tagaytay City,” ani Tolentino.
Gaganapin ang Tagaytay City ACC Track Championships sa Marso 25 hanggang 31 sa susunod na taon.
